I’m delighted to be performing a new version of “rubix remixed” with live musicians Laurent Estoppey (saxophone), Erika Boysen (flute), Nicholas Elliot Rich (guitar), and Brian Tyndall (guitar).  rubix revisited is a four-sided improvisational structure created in collaboration with dancers Binh Duong, Robin Gee, and Brianna Taylor.  An absurdist, geometrical, and sonic abstraction, the piece combines pre-composed material and improvisational openness.  rubix revisited is compositionally inspired by Carol McDowell’s surrender (2009), based on Trisha Brown’s Locus (1975) and Barbara Dilley’s grid score.
