“Lost Chinatowns” at CounterPulse, San Francisco CA (Dec 6-8 & 13-15, 2018)

This fall I’ve been hard at work developing Lost Chinatowns into an ensemble piece under the auspices of a 2018 CounterPulse Performing Diaspora artist residency.  Animated by the vibrant contributions of dancers Clarissa Dyas, Zoe Huey, and Lynn Huang, this version of the work considers community resilience and the diversity of Asian America while continuing to grapple with the historical erasure of Santa Cruz’s Chinese communities in relation to present-day xenophobia racism.  Sound by Anna Friz, dramaturgy by Scott Trafton, and choreographic consultation by Shyamala Moorty.
