Dances in the Age of Coronavirus (2020)

In spring 2020, as shelter-in-place orders descended upon California, I started a practice of sending a daily dance to my friend, Haley Brown. With studios and theaters shut down and fleshy, breath-filled contact with other bodies out of the question, I danced solo, with the furniture, with the land, and in dialogue with distant collaborators. Informally shot and mostly unedited, these raw sketches archive a particular time and bodily experience, privileged in many ways, while also living and dancing through isolation, chronic illness, and disability.
